Labor Day Fun Day

Labor Day is a day that is celebrated in the United States. This federal holiday gives a break to all the laborers in this country. This holiday takes place on the first Monday in September. Kids all over the United States get a day off of school to celebrate Labor Day. This is what some students said they did for Labor Day… Mrs. Bourland, “BBQ with my family and play games with the little ones.” Beya, “I am going camping with my family and friends.” Tysean, “I will sit around the house and eat and sleep the whole day.” During Labor day, a lot of sales are going on like car shops, mattress dealerships, and furniture stores. These sales last for a couple of days depending on the retailer. There are a lot of parades you can see all over the United States. We started to celebrate this holiday in 1882.

The Nfl season is about to start on September 9th so I'm here to talk about the latest news of the NFL. Patrick Mahomes is ranked as the number 1 player in the top 100 players in 2021. The Nfl is saying that players’ vaccination rate is 93% and they are getting tested weekly. The Nfl did 7,190 tests for the virus between Aug. 1 to Aug 21. There were only 68 positives, Some players vaccinated tested positive at the rate of 0.3. Colts QB Sam Enlinger is to miss about 4 weeks with a sprained ACL. Some trades that happen in the preseason are The Jacksonville Jaguars dealt quarterback Gardener Minshew to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2022 conditional sixth-round pick. The Miami Dolphins are acquiring veteran center Greg Manic from the Baltimore Ravens in a deal that will involve a late-round pick swap, Rapoport reported. The 49ers DC is excited about unlimited options with Nick bosa, Dee ford back in their lineup. Cait said football isn't as good as rugby but it's still good. Mrs. Waters said I love the NFL. Karissa said I think it is AWESOME. Chris said that he thinks it’s a good sport for men and good for exercise. Bailey said that she likes the charges and the las vegas raiders.
Who is Winning...?!

Hello everybody! Do you guys want to know who is winning? We are going to talk about popular movies and games, First movies. We asked people if they would rather watch “The Nightmare Before Christmas” or “Hocus Pocus,” on Halloween or around Halloween. We asked about 15 people and 10 of them said “ Nightmare Before Christmas” and 5 of them said “Hocus Pocus.” We researched the most viewed Halloween movie of All Time and it's “Hocus Pocus.”I think they are tied. Speaking of this we asked Samantha Guerra If she has seen “Hocus Pocus” and she said, “ I have watched it and it is a good movie.” Last but not least, popular games. We searched up the most popular games and they are… Minecraft and Roblox obviously we need to know which one people like to play better so again we asked the same people which one they would rather play. We got 9 for roblox and 7 for Minecraft, as you see roblox won I think it is a tie because they are both great games! We asked Presley King If he liked Minecraft or Roblox better he said, “I like minecraft more because it is fun to play and I like the music it is calming.” That is it for today folks I hope you guys have a great day. MLB Goes Crazy

A lot of people watch MLB and so many of them are addicted to it. Baseball is America’s pastime and people fall in love with it very easily. The New York Yankees have gone to the world series 40 TIMES and they have won 27 times. The worst team in baseball are the Philadelphia phillies. They only have 2 world series wins and 7 pennant wins. Babe Ruth is the best baseball player in MLB history and he played for the New York yankees. The Yankees have half their wins because of Babe Ruth and his amazing skills. The best current baseball player alive is on the Angels and his name is Mike Trout, number 27. He has won 21 MVP awards, that's the most in baseball franchise history from the start of baseball to today. The Astros are the most hated team because they cheated in the 2017 World series. They used trash cans to tell they're teammates what pitch was going to be thrown and they made it easier for the batter. They also put tree sap on their hands to pitch the ball better so they could strike the batter out easily. The Astros were disqualified from the world series for cheating and were not able to compete for a whole nother year. A lot of people hate the Astros and some think that they should be shut down completely. So the Astros would be no more but sadly that was not the case. Fall-Tastic Drinks!!

The fall Starbucks menu is now out and that can only mean one thing, PUMPKIN! Now that the summer Starbucks menu is gone, we can focus on countless fan favorites that are back in store! Starting with our seasonal favorites, the Pumpkin Spice Latte which consists of autumn comforts like cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin of course, and clove, it’s also topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices. The Pumpkin Cream Coldbrew like most is sweetened with vanilla syrup, this seasonal treat is topped with pumpkin cream cold foam, and dusted with nutmeg and pumpkin spices. Now for the new drinks!!! Introducing the Iced Apple Crisp Macchiato, the flavors are just saturating, they mimic the delicious flavor of a gooey apple pie, just… swirled into espresso, and it’s topped with a caramelized apple spiced drizzle. Followed by the Hot Apple Crisp Macchiato, notes of apple and brown sugar come together with espresso, steamed milk, and the caramelized apple spiced drizzle to create a smooth flavorful warming drink. We asked our class specifically what their favorite Starbucks drink is, now they may not be our fall favorites they’re still delicious, so in saying that. 2 of our students don’t enjoy going to Starbucks... What?! 1 of our student’s favorites is an Acai Refresher, which sounds… refreshing! 2 love the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher, 4 enjoy the Vanilla Bean Frappe, 1 likes the Caramel Frappe, another’s favorite is the Cookie Crumble Frappe and our very own Ms. Bourland’s favorite is a simple iced vanilla coffee.

It's almost October which means it's time to start getting your pumpkins carved, costumes picked out, and scary movies watched. In my opinion watching horror movies is my favorite part of halloween. But the origins of Halloween are also very interesting if you don't already know. Costumes are also such a fun part of halloween. We asked some kids what they wanted to see this year and this is what we got. Chris Garcia says “ I want to see cocomelon this year.” And Rylee Says “I want to see fun posters around the school.”. The word Halloween comes from the quote “ All Hallows' Eve” and means hallowed evening. Hundreds of years ago, people dressed up as saints and went door-to-door, which is the origin of halloween. Halloween has been around for thousands of years and it's one of the top five favorite holidays in the US. It has actually been marked as the 3rd favorite holiday in the US .Some more traditional foods they would eat are corn on the cob pumpkin pie candied apples and lots of candy.

Are You Afraid Of Ghosts?

Yashiro Nene is a second year in high school attending Kamome Gakuen 's High School Division and is a fan of the occult and supernatural. Her school inhabits many supernatural beings and apparitions, The Seven Wonders of the School. Nene isn’t very popular, but has one friend, Aoi Akane. Nene hears the story of Hanako-San of the toilet. The legend is as follows: if you go to the second floor girls bathroom and knock on the third stall door while repeating “Hanako” three times, Hanako’s ghost will appear and grant you one wish in exchange of a price she sees fit; However you won't know what she took until it’s too late. Nene goes to the bathroom to summon Hanako-San. When she finishes the ritual, nothing happens. As she sighs a sigh of relief and disappointment, a hand grabs her from behind. Nene tries to defend herself, but to no avail, as the hand is that of a ghost. It was Hanako-San. Hanako appears to be a boy, not a girl as the legend states. After she tells her name and wish, that her crush would like her back, hanako pulls out a book of relationship advice. Apparently Hanako isn’t very experienced with magic, as not many people know how to summon him, let alone have the courage to summon him. All the tricks were old and outdated and none of them worked. As Nene starts to admit defeat, hanako drops something. Nene picks it up and asks what it is. Hanako explains that they are matchmaking mermaid scales, but before he could explain the curse that comes with them, Nene eats one and passes out in a matter of seconds. Nene awakes inside a fish tank. She had been turned into a fish. Hanako explains the curse, whoever eats it will become a fish, the slave of the mermaid of whom the scale belongs to. However if two people consume scales of the same mermaid, the curse will be split between the two. Hanako agrees to eat the scale and in return, Nene becomes his assistant. Hanako eats the scale and Nene returns to human form. The mermaid comes to retrieve Nene as her slave but hanako fights her off. As Hanako’s assistant, Nene cleans bathrooms and fights pesky and dangerous apparitions that terrorize the school and has met many near death experiences. As the story progresses, the viewers meet many new characters. “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun” is an anime series by AidaIro and is based off the fifteen volume manga series. “Toilet-bound Hanako-kun” season 1 has a total of 12 episodes and premiered on January 10, 2020. I asked 5 students if they have heard of it and 4 out of 5 people said “no”. Caitlyn Brett says “it’s the best anime to ever exist, It’s my favorite.” She also really likes the janitor.
A Once in a Lifetime Event

So excited for a one in a lifetime event for fall it's called oktoberfest there's so much stuff to do there. They have events therefore fun they have a beer one where you stack beers and you have to have the highest beers to win. They always have a fair and rides ther for the kids to have fun and a lot of food. They also have an eating contest there to see who can eat the most and win prizes. The last contest they have is the saw conest how this works is you have to cut a tree with a saw first before the other person does.
Why should you go because it is a one of a year time to go for fall. It is super fun you can go on rides, eat , watch contests and have fun. There is way more than that you can go and find stuff you like. You can even dress the ways they do; they wear green with white and hats. Their outfits are so cool and fun to wear you should try them and go and have fun. Maybe even try some of these contests and win a prize. A really big and cool Oktoberfest I went to is in Big Bear it's really fun and there are so many things to do. Colleen said she loves going to oktoberfest and it is so fun and she goes to some.
The Esperanza Fire- The Analogy of a Beast

Today I will tell you the sad story of the Esperanza fire. The Esperanza fire started on October 29, 2006. The time it started was 1:11 a.m. The serial arsonist Raymond Oyler, had intentions to kill. With Santa Ana winds gusting hard, Oyler used a combination of matches and cigarettes to start a fire in Cabazon at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains. Engine 57 arrived a couple hours later and started fighting the blaze.Engine 57 continued to fight the blaze and hiked up to the “Octagon House”.
The blaze was gathering around the five firefighters. They tried to contact the flight crew above in their s-2 trackers but no response was found. The fire consumed both engine 57, and the firefighters. Later, the other firefighter’s noticed the lives of the 5 firefighters, Jason McKay, Jess McLean, Daniel Hoover-Najera, Mark Loutzenhiser and Pablo Cerda. They shall all Rest in Peace. A memorial-ceremony was held close to the octagon house as shown below. I asked a couple of people “Do you know what the Esperanza fire is”? Gauge Leiman said “yes, i do”,Santiago arenas said “no i do not”,Caitlin said “nope”,James said “ mhm i do” and Monty said “ no”. I've been to the memorial a few times in my years and have paid my respects to the 5 firefighters killed. Raymond Oyler was taken to court after they figured out who started the blaze. He was sentenced 5 counts of first-degree murder, 17 counts of using an incendiary device and 20 counts of arson for setting fire to the morongo mountains. In my years, I've been to the octagon house and the memorial. They have crosses from where each firefighter was found. Me and my dad actually got our truck stuck at the memorial while leaving

Playing video games can improve multi-tasking. Some games such as action games often involve a lot of tasks that need to be done simultaneously. In conclusion, inventions and technology are increasing and improving not only online entertainment venues, but improving human conditions and quality of life.

Larissa said Lebron is a good role model.James said Lebron is a Amazing basketball player. Lebron played high school Basketball at St.Vincent saint Mary he was an all around player and lead his team to 3 championships in four years.Lebron was always a hardworking person and sometimes he gives advice To younger people where Lebron grow up,and also other people.
