Fun Facts About Dark Chocolate!

On February 14th we celebrate Valentine's Day, some people may give each other chocolate which may include Dark Chocolate. That is why I am here to tell you some fun facts about Dark chocolate.
Fact 1
February 1st is National Dark Chocolate Day. Dark chocolate contains vitamins and minerals that the body needs. It is also rich in powerful antioxidants called flavonoids that promote healthy circulation and can prevent plaque formation. Dark chocolate has much more cacao and less sugar than milk chocolate. My Grandma said, “Dark chocolate is kind of rich so a little can go a long way.”
Fact 2
Dark chocolate contains tryptophan and phenylethylamine, two chemicals known to tell your brain to release pleasure causing endorphins. This feeling of euphoria is often compared with the feeling of being in love. Dark chocolate Can help prevent Alzheimer’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease.
Fact 3
In a 2015 study investigated the effects of chocolate consumption with 60 people who have type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Researchers found that the people who ate 25 grams of dark chocolate daily for 8 weeks had significantly lower blood pressure than those who ate the same quality but of white chocolate.
Extra Note
Some kids may not like Dark chocolate due to its bitterness and lack of flavor. My Grandma says “Most kids don’t really care for dark chocolate, adults like it better.”
DIY Valentine decorations

I know COVID-19 has been stressful lately and you probably don't want to go to the store and risk getting germs. I am going to tell you how/what DIY Valentine gifts you can make at home. I asked my mom what a good Valentine gift would be and she said “you should make someone's day by writing them nice notes”. The first one you can do is, you can get a jar and fill the jar up with positive messages for someone to open up every day. The messages will be something positive that you know will put a smile on someone's face. Some things you can say are “Your amazing” or “Have a great day.” You can also decorate the jar to make it more cute and more like a valentine gift. Next you can make them a card, the card can say something nice and you can even draw pictures on it or print out a picture and put it on the card. I know a card might not sound like that fun of a gift but it will be something meaningful to the person that you give the card to. I asked my grandma what other things you can do for making gifts at home and she said that “it would be a great idea to use supplies out of the house and make a basket of stuff.” You can go to your pantry and grab snacks and you can put toys/gift cards from your house into a basket and drop it off at someone's front door. Also, you can fill a box with a bunch of candy, and maybe add something like a cozy pair of socks, soda, a blanket, or anything else that you want. I hope these gift ideas helped!
Martin Luther King Jr

Imagine having to live in a world where you were separated by the color. That's the world that Martin Luther King Jr. lived in and many other people. King lived through segregation, the “black” side. King and many other African-American kids were not allowed to be in the same room as the “white” kids. That’s when King decided to dedicate his life to achieving equality and justice for Americans of all colors.
Once King graduated from Crozer Theological Seminary and received his doctorate (an advanced degree) in theology (the study of religion) from Boston University in 1955, he married Coretta Scott. He married her on June 18, 1953. They had four children named Martin Luther King Jr III, Dexter King, Yolanda King, and Bernice King. In 1954, King had become minister of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. In Montgomery, he was active with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). He was also active in the Alabama Council on Human Relations. The Bus Boycott of 1955 made an important impact on segregated seating by demonstrating that everyone should be treated equally regardless of the color of their skin.
Five years after the Bus Boycott of 1955, a new movement started that was called “The Sit-In”. African-Americans started this nonviolent protest by sitting at “whites only” lunch counters. The movement quickly spread across theSouth. The Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) called a meeting of “sit-in” leaders to arrange the movement. King encouraged young people to use these nonviolent methods. In 1960 the “sit-in” ended.
Martin Luther King Jr. gave his iconic speech “I Have a Dream” on August 28, 1963. He said that he wished that one day his children would be able to play with kids their age of all colors.His dream was that color should not matter. He wanted everyone to be treated equally. On April 4, 1968 Martin Luther King Jr. was shot on a balcony at the Lorraine Motel. King was built a monument next to the Lincoln Memorial. It is located near the place he gave his

1. “Soul”
You can find “Soul” on Disney+. “It’s a great movie I like how the main purpose was, What makes you, you? find that spark,” says Tiffany Arnett. “Soul” was released on December 25, 2020, and 93% of people liked it. 2. “WW84 (Wonder Woman 1984)”
You can find Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO max and in Theaters. Wonder Woman1984 was released on December 25, 2020, 67% of people liked it. “I didn’t get to watch the whole thing but I think it was really good,” says Lisa Rogers. 3. “Mulan”
You can find Mulan on Disney+. It’s a 2-hour long movie and 63% of people liked the movie. It was released on September 24, 2020. This is the third remake of the movie. 4. “We can be Heroes”
You can find We can be heroes on Netflix. This movie was released on December 25, 2020, and 70% of people liked it. There were alien invaders on earth that captured all of the superheroes and their children had to go on a mission to find and help them escape. Nfl Playoffs

As many of you know the NFL playoffs are getting ready to go into the conference championship. In the NFC Divisional games, the Packers beat the Rams on Saturday and the Saints were beaten by the Buccaneers on Sunday. In the AFC divisional rounds, the Bills beat the Ravens and the Chiefs beat the Browns. The NFC Conference Championship will be a matchup between the Buccaneers and the Packers. That’ll be a good game considering they played in week 6 after a blowout win by the Buccaneers. In the AFC the Chiefs are going to be playing the Bills after a good game in Buffalo that led to a Chiefs win. Both of these games are going to be great matchups this weekend. Both of them are going to be high-scoring games or a great defensive stand. Right now Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is questionable after a hard hit against the Browns. There is a potential that we might see the Chiefs backup Chad Henne start instead of Patrick Mahomes because of his concussion. Bills are looking strong coming into this one looking to get back into the Super Bowl for the first time since 1993. All of these teams look very strong on offense and defense can't wait to see what they do this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. I asked some football fans what they thought about these championship games. Steelers fan David Blakeborough says “this game is going to be close with a big shootout but I still have the Chiefs winning by 3 points.” Nick Jacobson Los Angeles Rams fan states “the Packers, Buccaneers game is going to be a great matchup of the rematch of week 6. Presidents Day is a federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February, this holiday is about honoring George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. This holiday starts in the 1880s when the birthday of Washington—commander of the Continental Army during the American Revolution and the first president of the United States. Surprising stores close on Presidents day, banks, Financial markets are closed, Government City, county, federal and state offices, libraries, and superior courts are closed. Schools, Most schools, including Los Angeles community colleges, are closed. During debate on the bill, it was proposed that Washington’s Birthday be renamed Presidents’ Day to honor the birthdays of both Washington (February 22) and Lincoln (February 12).

I asked my sister Anjelina what new movie she was most excited to watch and she said “Hotel Transylvania.” I then asked her why she picked that movie and she said “She's looking forward to watching it because she has seen the other movies and wants to see what will happen next on the new one” Here are some new movies that will soon be released.

Subject 323-Wendigo

The Wendigo, a myth that has taken over media and online horror forums. A creature with a heart of ice, a creature that seeks to satisfy its hunger. A creature that currently is just a damaged skull. Even though it is just roughly only 9 percent of itself, in just an hour, it can turn into 100.
The Wendigo comes from the North American tribes where the myth of the Wendigo is a subject of selfishness and greed in the tribes. According to them, for one to become a Wendigo, one must gain cannibalistic thoughts while on the verge of starvation. It ended up being the “Sharing is Caring” story for the tribes but with a dark twist. Although maybe it wasn’t a myth, maybe it has been here since the myth began. Let us take a look at SCP-323.
Now you may ask “What has this SCP-323 have to do with the Wendigo?” It contains a large part of it actually. SCP-323 or the “Wendigo Skull” is an unidentified cervid skull with antlers on the left and right sides of the face. The image above shows SCP-323. If you have never read or heard SCP-323’s official article then let me tell you the important things. After an hour of direct exposure to the skull, the subject will attempt to put wear the skull. If the subject’s head can not fit inside SCP-323, the subject will attempt to bludgeon their head onto a surface until their head can fit or until they lose their life. If the subject is successful, they will go through a process that goes as follows in 10 minutes. The subject will have increased nail and tooth growth. The subject will lose body fat and body hair. Their skin will turn black consistent with frostbite. They will gain more strength and pain tolerance. They will be as susceptible to damage as before.
When the subject has turned into SCP-323-1 they will eat every 30 minutes. If it can’t find food, more specifically human flesh, it will die from starvation. It is theorized that it can get nutrients from other sources but chooses not to. SCP-323 has shown forms of sentience and will move at times with direct human contact. SCP-323 has been shown to jerk back when touched by a human.

D-9341: He’s not a bad entity.
Dr. Wyatt: Okay then, would you ever try to fight SCP-323?
D-9341: I may be a D class but I’m not stupid.

Not knowing when this pandemic will end we still need things to keep us entertained and one of those things is video games. Although video games are a way to entertain ourselves you don’t want to play the same games over and over again. So here our four of the newest games or games soon to come out. First is 2k21 for the sports lovers Josiah from the 4th grade said “2k games are my favorite because basketball is my favorite sport.”. Even though this game came out in September 2020 it is the newest 2k game and another one isn’t coming out for a while. You can play this game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and more, also 2k21 has single and multiplayer mode so you can play with friends and family. Second for the horror game fans is Resident Evil Village. This game being the thirteenth game of the franchize with two remakes.Resident Evil Village is an upcoming survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. It will be the tenth major installment in the Resident Evil series, and the sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. It has no specific release date but it is for sure coming in 2021. It will be playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows. Third is for the DC superhero fans Gotham Knights Jacob from the 6th grade said “ I love superheroes so I think this will be the perfect game for me.”. Instead of having Batman as the main character it gives players the choice of four members from the Bat Family while offering online co-op to team up and save Gotham, though the game can also be played in single-player. This game also doesn't have an exact release date but it is sure to come out in 2021. The fourth and last game is Halo Infinite. This is the tenth Halo game of the franchise Halo infinite could be the last mainline Halo game to ever be released. You can play it on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows. Those are only four of the amazing games that just came out or are coming out this year.
Remembering 2020

So I'm pretty sure we all know that 2020 had its ups and downs.If I do say so myself 2020 was not the best year for me. A lot happened and it was all super overwhelming and scary. In 2020 there were all the huge fires up in the mountains,Kobie bryant's death,The murder hornets. Those are some of the big but also not so big things that happened. A really big event that happened and is still happening is covid 19 now i'm not going to bring up my personal opinion but i do have to say that covid 19 has impacted everyone's life and way of living. Some people for the better and some not. Also a huge event that happened was the 2020 election. This election will be a huge part of history because of some of the things that happened during the election. Now there's so much more in 2020 but I wanted to get the main things that happened. I hope all of you have a great 2021. I asked one of my friend hazel what was one of the worst thing in 2020 and she said” I had to move to california away from all of my friends” I also asked my mom what was the worst memory of 2020 and she said “ The worst memory of 2020 was that my mom had to move out of california to take care of my grandma”

The first Valentine's day was around the year 496 AD. It is thought to have started from a Roman festival. The Romans had a festival called lubecalia in the middle of february towards the start of spring. The ancient Romans may also be responsible for the name of our modern day of love.
Emperor Claudius 2 executed two men both named Valentine on february 14 the day of valentines day. Their martyrdom honored the catholic church with the celebration of st valentine's day. St Valentine's Day is an annual festival to celebrate romantic love, friendship and admiration. Every year on 14 February people celebrate this day by sending messages of love and affection to partners, family and friends. Valentine's Day can also be an incredibly expensive holiday to celebrate.
So yes valentine's day is actually a pretty dark holiday I did not know about a guy named valentine to have gotten executed then another guy with the same name happened the same thing. This is now the darkest holiday I know. Halloween is just not that dark but for two people to be killed and make it a holiday is pretty messed up. Valentine's day is still a fun holiday but I will remember the guys who died for it. My favorite part of valentine's day is the candy that's yours. My friend sage said “I never knew that valentines was this dark”.my dad said “wow that a lot of words and I never knew that”.
